Universal’s Epic Universe Opens in Orlando

On May 22, 2025, Universal Orlando Resort unveiled its most ambitious project to date: Epic Universe, the first new major U.S. theme park in over two decades. Spanning 750 acres, this $7 billion development introduces five immersive worlds, over 50 attractions, and ground breaking technology designed to redefine the theme park experience.
Celestial Park: The Heart of Epic Universe
Serving as the central hub, Celestial Park welcomes guests with lush gardens, shimmering fountains, and architecture inspired by astrology and mythology. Key attractions include the Constellation Carousel, a celestial-themed ride, and Stardust Racers, a dual-launch roller coaster reaching speeds up to 62 mph and heights of 133 feet. At night, the park transforms with dazzling light displays, enhancing the magical atmosphere.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
This land transports visitors to 1920s Paris and the British Ministry of Magic from the “Fantastic Beasts” and “Harry Potter” series. The centrepiece attraction, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, is a motion-based dark ride featuring omnidirectional lifts, allowing guests to join Harry, Ron, and Hermione in a thrilling chase through the Ministry.
Super Nintendo World
Fans of Nintendo can immerse themselves in Super Nintendo World, featuring attractions like Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, an augmented reality racing simulator, and Mine-Cart Madness, a roller coaster based on the Donkey Kong Country series. The area also offers interactive experiences with Power-Up Bands and themed dining at Toadstool Cafe.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
Inspired by the beloved film series, this land offers attractions such as Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, a family-friendly roller coaster, and The Untrainable Dragon, a live show. Guests can explore Viking-themed environments and enjoy interactive play zones suitable for all ages.
Dark Universe
Delving into the realm of classic Universal Monsters, Dark Universe features the Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment dark ride, where guests encounter iconic creatures in a thrilling setting. The land’s gothic ambiance and unique dining experiences, like Das Stakehaus, add to the immersive horror-themed environment.
Accommodations: Universal Helios Grand Hotel
Adjacent to Celestial Park, the Universal Helios Grand Hotel offers 500 rooms with exclusive park access. The hotel features themed suites, including “How to Train Your Dragon”-themed Kids’ Suites, and provides guests with early park entry and unique dining options.
Tickets and Access
Tickets for Epic Universe are available through various packages, including the 2025 Explorer Ticket, which offers one day at Epic Universe and 14 days at Universal’s other parks. Annual passholders have options for single-day tickets, and reservations for the Universal Helios Grand Hotel are open for stays beginning on May 22, 2025.
